Charity of the Year!

We are proud to announce that Homeless Care has been chosen as a charity of the year by the Coxheath based construction company, the Chartway Group. A big thank you to all the staff who voted for us and to Managing Director Ian Savage, for his generosity in not only making it possible for staff to take part in fundraising events but enabling them to volunteer at Maidstone Day Centre. Like the Chartway Group, Homeless Care is very much part of the community and we look forward to working together to make a difference to the lives of local people who are going through difficult times.

You can help.

The effects of the overwhelming response to the annual ‘You Can Help’ Christmas campaign is lasting well into 2018. The Kent Messenger/Homeless Care campaign was launched over ten years ago in local supermarkets when shoppers were asked to buy an extra item for homeless and vulnerable people. The idea appealed to the ever-generous people of Maidstone and each year more have joined in to make a difference to the lives of others. The amount of tins, packets, fresh and frozen food we received in 2017 was quite amazing, almost double that of 2016 and so we have had to find more storage space!

That so many individuals, schools, churches and local employees went to such great efforts to give food to those who would otherwise have gone hungry,  was humbling and heartwarming. To all those who played a part in this success, a huge thank you from all of us Homeless Care.
